Vice President of Google's product management, Brian Rakowski said the 5G network is still immature.
Google seems to be following Apple's steps not to launch smartphones with 5G network technology in Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. Fans are also curious, why Google does this, where several other Android devices have offered this option.
Now if you are curious, Google's Vice President for product management Brian Rakowski has an explanation regarding the absence of 5G in Pixel 4. Rakowski noted that the next generation of wireless technology is not ready for consumers today.
"Even though you already have a smartphone with 5G network technology, you will not be able to enjoy the technology and the full speed of the technology." As such, Rakowski doesn't think that this is the ideal time to buy a 5G device.
He said, currently there are only a few locations that are "ready" for the 5G network, such as China, South Korea, and in several locations in Europe. Whereas in America, the development of 5G coverage areas is still not as fast as that region.
"We will have it, but now is not the right time to buy a 5G device. Both from the perspective of deployment and from the perspective of hardware and telephones, where the network still requires a lot of power, and is still immature so we are the reason, "said Rakowski, as reported by the Wccftech page (18/10/2019).
With a 3700mAh battery, Pixel 4 XL with 5G connectivity will produce a power-intensive device. In fact, users are currently asking for their devices to last all day.
But of course, this does not mean Google will not launch Pixel 4 devices with 5G technology. Rakowski did not explicitly say when the device will be launched. But, if the time is right, they promise to launch the device.
